Planning Permission
Planning permission for your ProWorkshop is generally not required, saving you time and hassle in the creation of your perfect workshop.
Through the design and construction of our buildings we are able to comply with the basic set of rules enforced by government for permitted development; meaning that planning permission is rarely required.
Below are further details on how we comply with permitted development and can help you avoid planning permission:
- No ProWorkshop building is built with maximum external height exceeding 2.5m and are no larger than 30sq meters.
- No outbuilding (workshop, garden room) can be built forward to the front wall of your property.
- No more than half the area of land around the "original house" would be covered by additions or other buildings such as a garden room or workshop.
- National Parks, the Broads, Areas of ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and World Heritage Sites: The maximum area to be covered by garden rooms, other buildings, enclosures, containers and pools more than 20 metres from house are to be limited to 10 square metres. Any structures at the sides of these properties would require planning permission.
- Any outbuilding within the grounds of listed buildings will require planning permission.
Please note: the permitted development allowances described here apply only to houses; not flats, maisonettes or other buildings.
